Quick Update: The news of this awe-inspiring story was posted in a diary by Calvin Jones not long ago. Please give him a little love at the original news-breaking diary.
I understand the title of this diary is very vague, and sounds like what we've been hearing for days. But no, this is a different story.
According to Boston.com/The Boston Globe, quoting an anonymous aide, Senator Edward Kennedy was almost too ill last night to speak. He spent a sleepless night, and the day of his speech "in a Denver hospital for a kidney condition."

Unrelated to his brain tumor, Senator Kennedy experienced a very painful bout of kidney stones THE DAY OF THE SPEECH. But he climbed the podium anyway.

I wonder if Maria Shriver, Caroline Kennedy, or even Joe Biden were aware of the pain this man was in as he stood at the podium. Nothing would keep him away. Not his battle with cancer, and not his very painful condition of kidney stones that had him in a Denver hospital. I can only imagine how he felt as he gave his wonderful speech.
Ted Kennedy couldn't be kept away. Couldn't be stopped. Metaphorically speaking, this has been who he has been as the Senator of my fine Commonwealth for almost double my lifetime. He won't back down for anything, he won't let his personal pain keep him from his duty and what he loves to do: inspire, help, and work for all the people of these United States.
He spent the day in the hospital, and the night standing before millions to give a speech he was damned determined to make.
Thank you, Ted. You put yourself through hurting for those you care deeply about, yet again.
Caroline Kennedy:
``There was nothing that was going to keep him away,'' she said. She did not detail her uncle’s ailment.
