The big story is will CNN cover this statement over and over and over and over every night?
Samza says 'don't count on it' (and that is the real story). what do you think? Poll
MCain's health care guru Goodman says that there are no real uninsured americans because even poor people can go to the emergency room. This is newsworthy. McCain, who is rich and out of touch, has time after time illustrated his lack of compassion and comprehension for those hurt by Bush economic policies. Here, an issue that real people do really care about (I am sure all the pundits do have great health care) has been totally marginalized by McCain camp.
This matters. Goodman is McCain's health care policy advisor! He just said the way to deal with the uninsured americans is to tell the census bureau to stop counting them. WOW!!
This IS Unbeleivable.
And it won't be beleived; and most people won't ever know and those that do will have forgotten it in a week. Why ? -- Why will this evidence that MCCain camp could care less about the unisured in America not make it into the national consciousness? Because unlike Pastor Wright or Obama's comment that disouraged people seek comfort in things they ae familiar with.... (cling to guns)-- This will not be covered ad nauseum. And that is the real story and the real problem for America.
A health care policy adviser for the McCain campaign told a newspaper reporter that nobody in the United States is technically uninsured, because everyone has access to hospital emergency rooms.
"So I have a solution [to the health care crisis]. And it will cost not one thin dime," John Goodman, president of the National Center for Policy Analysis, told the Dallas Morning News in an interview published Thursday.
