The reported choice of ethically challenged Alaska Governor and "PUMA Other Woman" Sarah Palin, on McCain's 72nd Birthday, immediately makes AGE the front and center issue of this campaign now. Besides being endorsed by Ted Stevens, she really is in no way qualified to be Commander in Chief, especially if after only 2 years, she's already facing her own Ethics probe. She has nothing in the way of experience; She was a mayor of Wasila Alaska, which is smaller than Obama's state senate district.
McCain turns 72 years old today. At 72, anything can happen. Certainly, it's a concern to any voter to trust that for four full years, the person they chose to lead this country will have the full mental and physical capabilities to lead. Should anything God for bid happen to prevent that from happening, then we must trust that the person to have a capable and ready Vice President to back them up.
Barack Obama faces threats and concern daily, and the brave men and women of the Secret Service protect our candidate with valor daily. That said, Joe Biden is a man qualified and ready should the unspeakable occur.
At 72 years old, John McCain faces as much or even more risk from Father Time and the natural frailty of humanity. While I may not agree with Mitt Romney on most things, he could be President; he could get respect on the world stage.
Barack Obama has proven he can, and has already earned the respect of the world leaders.
Sarah Palin would garner no such respect. She has no respect from the congress... no respect from the UN... nothing.
She's a 2nd year governor from a small backwater Alaska fishing town.
John McCain's age requires a capable #2, a strong back up should anything happen. The Number One test of chosing a Vice President is whether that person is a credible person as President.
John McCain failed that test with Sarah Palin. She may be interesting; she may get a few votes from the dozens of PUMA left; she may even take Alaska off the board, but honestly, she is in no way qualified at all to be President... It's debatable whether she'd even carry muster in a cabinet position.
Biden will chew her up and spit her out.. He doesn't have to be tough on her, be tough on McCain, and let Palin defend him. She can't, she won't be able to... Biden will walk all over Palin.
