The daily tracking polls are out. While we shouldn't place too much stock in any particular day's results, there can be no doubt that the Hillary's great speech cemented the base and Bill's and Biden's speeches have done that and wooed independents.
Remember, these are results from yesterday's polling, which won't have much if any impact from Barack Obama's masterful acceptance speech last night. Rasmussen's daily poll has Obama gaining 2 points without leaners and 4 points with. That's on top of a point he picked up yesterday. It also shows him at 49% with leaners -- which, after weeks of rutheless McCain attacks, is just a point shy of his best results ever in Rasmussen polling.
Gallup's polls show 49-41, up two more points over yesterday, and reaching just one point shy of Obama's largest lead and best result to date -- which was 49-40 in July, before the onslaught of negative ads. Moreover, the Gallup internals show an amazing consolidation among democrats. In the last week, Barack's support among conservative shot from 63% to 77% -- a stunning 14 point increase. We can only see more gain from his speech last night.
This thing ain't over by far. But it's a good start. More details below the fold.
