So how do the Republicans get around the Experience question: Gingrich rolled it out on the Today show....She led the Alaska National Guard..
If this sells with the American People, we dont deserve to have Obama and deserve whatever we get....More below the fold.
The Alaska Army National Guard is composed of approximately 1850 soldiers and maintains 77 armories and other facilities, including Fort Greely (as of 2006).
Wow. She is clearly prepared to lead our military during a time where McCain has stated
The United States cannot afford to be complacent about the threat, naive about terrorist intentions, unrealistic about their capabilities, or ignorant to our national vulnerabilities.
Yet she seems "complacent" when Palin States:
I've been so focused on state government, I haven't really focused much on the war in Iraq. I heard on the news about the new deployments, and while I support our president, Condoleezza Rice and the administration, I want to know that we have an exit plan in place; I want assurances that we are doing all we can to keep our troops safe. Every life lost is such a tragedy. I am very, very proud of the troops we have in Alaska, those fighting overseas for our freedoms, and the families here who are making so many sacrifices.
So we can not forget McCain's argument against Obama:
Obama has done shockingly little to educate himself firsthand about the war in Iraq. Instead, he displays an arrogant certainty gained on the campaign trail. ... Obama’s failure to visit Iraq, listen and learn firsthand and witness the surge’s progress demonstrates weak leadership that disqualifies him from being commander in chief."
Then of course the RNC posted a countdown clock on how many days since Obama had been on the trail.
Today, the RNC unveiled a "online clock counting the days since Obama’s last visit to Iraq." Senator Obama hasn’t been to Iraq since January 2006, which is surprising since he is running for president.
Well she is a 72 year old heartbeat away from the Presidency. (Any insurance agents who can give us a Rated Age on this guy?) Her Countdown Clock would start at something like 16,600 days.(she has visited Kuwait when she said
"I’m not here to judge the idea of withdrawing, or the timeline," Palin said in a teleconference interview with reporters from Kuwait in 2007. "I’m not going to judge even the surge."
)
Will the Americans buy this crap? This lady will have a great great first week, then I expect people will look past the Maverick pick and say "arnt times to tough, McCain to Old and the stakes to high for Sarah Palin?"
Hillary worked her ass off for the 18 Million Cracks. Will woman let her get to the position of Vice President by winning the Gov of Alaska and "leading" 1,800 National Guard Troops and pushing through the already cracked ceiling?
The line of the weekend will be she has more executive and military experience than Obama and Biden....oy.
