Maybe I missed the memo at some point in the past couple of weeks that this race wasn't on anyone's radar. Maybe it was a hard news cycle to crack last week considering that Ted Stevens was indicted and McCain started the attack ads.
Did anybody even notice that John Cornyn for the second straight month
was under 50%?
I just can't understand why people think we have a better shot in Kentucky where McConnell has been polling much better or in Nebraska where Johnans is up by more than 20 points in the polling. I've yet to see more encouraging news in those states.
Here are some more positive signs from the latest polling.
- The most promising part of this data is that Noriega is gaining support from Democrats and Cornyn is losing support amongst Republicans.
Support from his own party fell slightly this month, from 85% to 81%. On the other side of the aisle, Noreiga is now backed by 79% of Democrats, up from 68% last month
.
- Wind Energy in Texas is starting to become an important issue to the voters. I think Texas voters are starting to get it based on this information also
The survey also found that most Texan voters (54%) are in favor of the state spending $5 billion on new power lines running between wind farms and major cities. Just 14% do not agree with this idea.
I think this is some encouraging news. Maybe the DSCC is not impressed with fundraising in Texas.
- We know that Texas is an expensive media market. But we also have several Congressional races that are in play in Texas and would benefit from some help.
- If you feel like I do that Noriega is getting the shaft do what you can to help. Remember that he is on our Two for Tuesdays page Tomorrow but you can always give today.
