According to Republican sources, Hurricane Gustov is an ideal way to demonstrate the basic difference between John McCain and George Bush. McCain is a conservative and believes in all of the Republican ideology, but unlike Bush, he will execute the Republican agenda with competence—not like the Michael Browns of the Bush Administration who were light on knowledge, experience and competence. No, John McCain will keep the ideology of small government that does big things cheaply and efficiently—just competently.
He will attract to his administration the very best, the very brightest that the Republicans have to offer so that events such as the government response to Katrina will never happen again. Gustov will show that Republicans really do care about people (particularly two months prior to a convention) and that they will do everything that they can do to make government work again.
Sarah Palin is a wonderful example of the new kind of government that McCain envisions. She has the kind of experience, and professionalism that we can expect in all of McCain’s appointments: Supreme Court, White House officials, various departments and agencies. Imagine a government filled with people just like Sarah Palin.
That’s the kind of change we can look forward to.
UPDATE: THIS IS A SNARK. When I become particularly disgusted with something a Republican does, I become more and more sarcastic. It's a charactor flaw, I know. But I thought the snark was obvious. My bad.
