It won't surprise anyone to hear that the quotes from newspapers & magazines in McCain's appallingly sleazy "Sex Ed" advertisement were taken out of context.
An article at Huff Post does a good job on them. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/... In fact, the Education Week article is very favorable to Obama.http://www.edweek.org/...
But the biggest lie in the ad is that what it calls "Obama’s one accomplishment" DID NOT HAPPEN. The ad credits him with "S.B. 99, passed 3/6/03"
But the bill never passed the Illinois Senate, let alone became law
Illinois Senate Bill 99 was introduced by Senator Carol Ronan on 1/9/03 and read by title for the first time. See p. 9 at http://www.ilga.gov/...
On 3/6/03, along with several other bills, Obama reported an amended version of the bill our of his Health & Human Services Committee, which recommended passage. See p.4 at http://www.ilga.gov/... Under the rules, the bill was ordered to a second reading. On 3/27/03, the bill was ordered to a third reading. See p.201 at http://www.ilga.gov/...
Apparently the bill did not get the third reading or come up for a vote because it died when the legislative session ended. See p. 185 showing the bill session sine die at http://www.ilga.gov/...
Barack Obama has a lot of accomplishments, but sex education for kindergartens is not one of them.
