This is just too good to be true.
Palin Team Stocked With Bush Veterans.
"How are you going to change Washington when you're hiring George Bush's people?"
Obama, Biden, Hillary, and every other campaign staffer and surrogate needs to hammer this point ad nauseam.
"How can you change Washington with George W. Bush's people?"
Yesterday, Maverick John put up another demonstrably false ad whining that Democrats were sending opposition researchers to Alaska (I know, Republicans NEVER use opposition research) to ferret out the truth about Caribou Barbie (of course he used wolves, not ferrets). While I think most Americans couldn't give a fig about something like that, it does open the door for Obama to keep pressing the most effective charge he has:
John McCain is lying to you when he says he will bring about change.
He doesn't want change. He just wants to keep the Republicans in charge.
The bridge to nowhere. The earmarks. The "honorable and civil campaign" replete with Brittney, Paris & lip-stick wearing pigs. Obama's tax plans. All lies.
And now this encapsulates it pefectly.
"How can you change Washington with George W. Bush's people?"
Say it again, again, and again. Run commercials. Show pictures. Name names. Lobbyists. Karl Rove acolytes. Bush cronies. This is who John McCain want to change Washington?
Fool me once, shame on you....
UPDATE: On a related note---In his acceptance speech, McCain went on about vetoing earmarks to study the DNA of bears in Montana. Now we learn that his VP nominee, this year, has requested a similar sum in earmarks to study seal DNA. This is tailor made for a sound bite and TV ad:
So when John McCain is for change, I guess what he means is that we should study seal DNA, not bear DNA.
My fellow Americans, that's not the kind of change we need!
