I've noticed something strange here in the Deep South. Even our local politicians, Repubs and Dems alike, are accusing each other of using "Karl Rove" tactics. Is there any other person in America, other than George Bush, who has such a negative persona as Karl Rove? Obviously, Karl Rove is identified with smears, swiftboating, deception, lies, manipulation, and using a person's strength against him/her. We Dems should be taking Karl Rove's strength, manipulative politics, and using it against him and the Repubs.
For example, instead of using the terms, "smear campaign," use the term, "Karl Rove campaigning," or instead of saying "the McCain campaign is using swiftboating," say "the McCain campaign is using Karl Rove tatics." Use the term "Karl Rove" to describe every faux outrage, every lie, every deception, every manipulation, until the American public is absolutely sure that the McCain campaign and the Repubs in general are deceptive, and more boldly, crooks & liars.
When a Dem accuses a Repub politician or accuses the McCain campaign of anything, using the terms, "smear, deceptions, untruths, etc, etc" the American public hears those terms and automatically thinks, "Gee, but both campaigns do this." Witness the Traditional Media's response when we complain of manipulative politics. Only the term "Karl Rove" attached to another adjective or adverb assigns the behavior EXCLUSIVELY to the Repubs or McCain campaign. Make the words "Karl Rove" stand for the kind of politics America wants to change. Do not use the term, "Rovian Politics," use his full name for more emphasis. Say it over and over again,
"Karl Rove Smear Campagn,"
"Karl Rove tactics,"
"Karl Rove deceptions."
By the time the name "Karl Rove" becomes THE very synonym for dirty politics in America, the winner of the Presidential race would not dare use that very man in any way, as an advisor or as anything else which would put him in public view. We would be using Rove's strenth against him, neutering his central role in dirty politics forever. This has been yet another edition of THINGS I THINK THE OBAMA CAMPAIGN SHOULD DO!
