Alaska's citizens have the right to hire whomever they chose to take control of their state and state of well being, however the people of America will make the final decision as to who our next president will be and based on the past few weeks I am quite confident that John McCain will not be that person.
But McCain and his campaign would have us think something different and with help from the media to date he has managed to confuse the public from the issues at hand, this will change and I am sure it has started already.
I was almost sure that this campaign was about John McCain and Barack Obama but after the past couple of weeks it seems that this race has become about Sarah Palin and her, "world ideas". Oh no, lets not discuss McCain and his inability to show the American public what he will do regarding healthcare, the economy, equal pay for equal work, or even national security right here at home. Nope, those things dont matter anymore because Sarah Palin is the answer to all of our problems. The conservative base has been injected and I have no doubt about it but it seems that just because the polls are indicating that this race is even some would have us think that McCain has won, Obama is off stride and the American public has made it's choice. McCain has got it in the bag!!
McCain has got nothing. Sarah Palin was a star to the media and the republican base but I can tell you that she is not as great in the eyes of the people I talk to, indies, liberal conservatives. Even republicans that were voting for McCain have now decided that he is a freak, made a freakish decision allowing the right wing to chose his VP and they will not be voting at all. Nope, they were waiting for him to finally talk about the issues and then instead he added baggage. "A new broom always sweeps clean" and in the end McCain will fail because the media and intelligent Americans will not allow this country into WW III.
Sarah Palin screwed the pooch last night and it is not the last time she will ruin any chances of McCain's ability to win this election. The chances of Palin not screwing up again would mean that she would have to not say anything for the next two months.
I will give a small prop to Charles Gibson last night in the fact that he was objective in the questions he asked and did not cater to her screw ups, blunders and lack of knowledge.
Palin thought she had it in the bag and boy was she bullshitting her way into the hearts of Americans all over the country. She was just so damn confident that we would not see how fucking scared she was, in her own mind trying to convince herself that she actually believed what she was saying even though she only understood half of what she was thinking. Her tutors did one hell of a job cramming all that information, I gotta hand it to them. They thought of everything, Iraq, Russia, Georgia, Israel. Damn, they covered just about every topic that has been in the news over the past couple of months.
Just when she had all the confidence in the world it happened,
"Do you agree with the Bush Doctrine?"
Palin's tutors did a good job with her in how to answer something she had no idea about but they forgot to mention to her that body lanquage and facial expression can say a hell of a lot more than what is coming out of her mouth.
Then the question with a question,
"In what respect, Charlie?"
The way she said Charlie was one of hate, of despise, How could he? Why? as she slammed back in her chair and poised a looked of utter disgust like a teenager being scolded.
O.K. Charlie, tell her what it is so she can babble off how important national security is and support the, "Bush Doctrine".
As far as I am concerned, I think the media and the Americans that had any doubt have seen the light and realize how deadly and serious the thought of Palin as VP or even, god forbid, president really is. And all of this is headed to fall in the lap of John S. McCain.
A lot could be debated about all of the comments that were made by Sarah Palin but it is quite clear to me that she was a mistake, she was picked by the right wing machine in hopes of diverting attention from one of the best Democratic Conventions of all time and they succeeded. She was picked because the sick minds of the neo-conservatives somehow thought that women were stupid and liked Hillary because of her gender however now that the pick has been made they are going to have to live with it and I am very sure that the American people will do exactly the opposite, they will NOT live with it.
