Paul Hackett wrote a diary entry about why Obama is losing Ohio. He stated 3 factors one of which is actually has a factual basis but has no relevance.
He stated that Obama has no organization in Southern Ohio. He must be blind, there are dozens of offices in Southern Ohio. I personally have seen offices in Zanesville, Lancaster, Athens, Pickerington, New Lexington, Logan and Portsmouth.
I ran into a paid staffer in Corning Ohio sunday for God's sakes. There are over 1000 Neighborhood Team Leaders throughout the State and 10's of thousands of volunteers knocking on doors, making calls and registering voters. (Update: I under estimated the number of volunteers in Ohio it is over 100,000 volunteers according to sources.)
No organization, where have you been looking? Because its evident everywhere else.
He says the polls are innacurate. Well DUH. But how does this prove Obama is losing? Polls are not good at counting new registered voters, which by the way the number of new democrats registered in Ohio is coming up on a whopping 1 million. The polls are not good at reaching people who have no land lines. Thousands upon thousands of people now use cell phones exclusively and this is especially true in the under 30 and African American demographic groups.
So yes the grain of truth is the polls are inacurate, but those inaccuracies are under counting Obama's support.
As far as going on personal attacks against the other side. Hogwash. Obama is a leader, he has character. He shows that in everything he does and how he runs this campaign. The respect he garners around the world is in a great deal because of this.
If he lowered himself to the level of McCain campaign, many voters would be disapointed indeed. Too many voters have the belief that all politicians are the same thus they show apathy and don't vote. Obama for the first time in decades has shown that he is different. People are active in this campaign and are interested that have not voted for years.
Obama must not, cannot let those that believe in his integrity down as McCain has done.
