Just a week ago, even Fox "News" was frustrated that Sarah Palin had so far refused any questioning from the media, prompting McCain campaign manager to tell Chris Wallace that Palin would be interviewed after she had some time to cram with the wonks in the campaign.
Then, last night, she finally gave her first interview to ABC News' Charles Gibson.
Today, it is announced that Fox "News"' Sean Hanity has landed the next interview with Palin. Also, Greta Van Sustern has an interview with her husband Todd Palin.
In a few short days, the Palin family has gone from hiding in a hole to trotted in front of every camera the campaign can find. Is this a surprise?
Absolutely not. Because Rick Davis knew what he was doing when he told Chris Wallace that Palin wouldn't be doing any interviews any time soon. He made a Palin talk seem off limits, and simultaneously made it the hottest ticket in town. Now everyone wants to talk to the Palins. The result is a free air time Sarah Palin lovefest, and the media took it hook line and sinker.
UPDATE:It doesn't matter that she is only doing soft ball interviews. The fact is, simply the fact that she is talking to someone is now a story that other outlets will report.
