Today's Diary will be a call to use global consciousness to win the election
After writing the diary entry A Terrible Feeling, in which I describe a future where the Republicans win, followed by much misery, Sarah Palin was named the Vice Presidential candidate for the Republicans and seems to have changed the landscape.
I also said that Republicans would cheat, preliminary evidence of which can be found at this diary post: (600,000 Ohio voters subject to GOP caging. . .) and also at epluribus media: (Lose your house, lose your vote -- the latest incursion against voters' rights). I'm sure there are many more that I've missed. For those of you in battleground states, I've run across this online book, which I'm sure has already been posted on dkos. It is a guide to monitoring and contesting election results.
The stage has been set for a defeat in November, but this does not have to happen. But what do we do to stop this? Most of us do not live in contested states and because of our representative system, our solitary votes won't affect the outcome. How do we make a difference beyond single selves?
Well, this IS a diary about psychic stuff and there is a psychic style solution. This does not have to take away from anything else you're doing to get Obama elected. I'm not just screwing around here, I've carefully built up the case for what I'm doing. I've demonstrated through evidence that psychic ability has been proven to exist. I've shown through evidence that a global consciousness exists. It is the focus of an ongoing study. By taking advantage of how our reality works, we can find a way to stop the nightmare.
People think of their thoughts as solely their own, but didn't you feel a slow turning of the tide as Sarah Palin made her impact on the election? Didn't you FEEL something change? I know I did. What you felt was the global mind. It's real. It's not all in your head and you're not making it up. You felt it.
I've been aware of this all my life, so this is an area where I've forgotten more about this than most of you will ever know. If we want Obama to win, we have to be very focused on thinking a certain way. Here's how it works:
The global mind is utterly literal. I don't know why, but I've been working with this a long time and that's just the way it is. No irony, no jokes, no half measures.
If you want to use the global consciousness to get something, you have to be direct. And this is where the election comes into play. We get Obama elected by focusing on getting Obama elected. This sounds simple doesn't it? But it's not. How many diaries do we have on our site focused on the republican and his veep candidate? How much are those people in your mind?
Here's the tricky part. If you become afraid of them or are threatened by them or are angry at them, you are giving them your attention. Once you do that you are attracting them. That's how the global mind works. It follows your focus, even if it's different from what you want. By giving them your attention, you are giving them your intent and that can have the dangerous consequence of getting them elected.
This is not to say that we have to agree with everything Obama says and does, we don't have to worship the ground he walks on, but he must have all of our attention. That's what will turn the tide back to him.
I'll give you an example. I ran a somewhat inflammatory diary a few days ago. (Learn from Nazi Germany: The Republican Path). One of the commenters strenuously disagreed with me and argued with everyone who had anything positive to say about the article. The comments soon ballooned past fifty and more people started checking out the diary as a result. Lots of comments tends to sell a diary.
Consequently, more people found the article who agreed with me and there were a lot more recommendations than I would have otherwise received. People who might not have agreed completely with me otherwise were polarized by this person and were moved to defend the diary. The commenter achieved the exact opposite of what he was trying to achieve. This is what happens when we focus on the Republicans.
It's why negative articles pointing out what stupid liars they are never seems to have any positive effect. It just raises their profile and mobilizes their supporters. SO STOP DOING THAT!
Where we put our attention determines what occurs. It happens in a down to earth way, such as the phenomenon I've described with my article and it happens in the global consciousness. Either way, it happens.
The ordinary state of global consciousness is just a mess of random thoughts and it doesn't take much to bend it one way or the other. If we act concertedly, here on dkos to focus our attention on Obama, just that attention alone will have a measurable positive effect on the election. Given how close things are, I think that this is necessary.
Don't think that Republicans or swing voters will be convinced by negative articles. They won't. They'll just see the name that pops up the most. Let's make sure that name is Obama. This is a call to action. Remember to give your attention to Obama and know that when you do this, you won't be alone even in your thoughts.
