I saw a horrible anti-Obama ad for the first time yesterday and a couple times already this morning. A woman claims to have survived an abortion attempt thirty years before then goes into this crap about how Obama voted against saving living aborted babies - you know, the whole infanticide BS.
I went to the websight of the group sponsoring the ad, bornalivetruth.org, hoping to find a blog to post this from factcheck. org:
It is worth noting that Illinois law already provided that physicians must protect the life of a fetus when there is "a reasonable likelihood of sustained survival of the fetus outside the womb, with or without artificial support."
This quote unfortunately comes at the end of a very long and confusing summary of both sides' versions of this whole issue. (Am I missing something, or shouldn't this be the most relevant fact about the issue?)
Of course, I found no blog or place to respond. I did find links people could place on websights to perpetuate the myth. I'm thinking the most effective way to combat this swiftboating is to copy and paste this paragraph wherever the ad or comments about it show up.
This subject is also debunked on the Obama websight, but I'm not sure the average person who sees this stuff would read the long, involved discussion there. Any other suggestions? Ohio must go blue!!!!
