Out here in Philadelphia today, in honor of Citizenship Day about 70 new immigrants were naturalized in a ceremony at the Constitution Center. My lovely wife had the bright idea of standing outside with the local Obama office folks and succeeded in getting about two dozen new voters for our cause with very little effort.
Now, thanks to my wife, these new citizens have the right to vote, and many of them will take to opportunity to pull the lever for Barack Obama!
So, if you want to register a big bunch of new voters who will be very likely to vote for Obama, then you could find out where the Naturalization Ceremony in your area is taking place.
Unfortunately, I could never find a single source for this information. Every city/county seems to have its own courthouse or office that co-ordinates the ceremony, but Googling "Naturalization Ceremony YourCity" usually gives you a list of when these ceremonies take place.
Remember to contact the venue to figure out the ground rules. But usually, if you hand people forms on the way in and help them fill it in, you are more likely to be successful. People are in a rush to leave at the end, and you may not be able to get as many.
And if you have done this before, and have some tips to share, please tip away.
