Give the GOP credit. They have incredible nerve. Not only are they about to nominate Sarah Palin as a pander to the far right Christian conservative base of the party. That decision goes right at the heart of ignoring the likes of Romney, Pawlenty, Dole and Hutchinson. But their rationalization forces them to reinvent the definition of many concepts.
The McCain think tank seems to feel that one issue on their side is the opinion that Palin has more executive experience than Obama. Time and again their spokesmen insist that her 20 months as Governor of Alaska proves she is more capable. Yet if holding a gubernatorial office defines executive experience, what credentials does McCain bring to the table? His career after the Navy was exclusively in the House and Senate. As a logical conclusion, Palin would then be more qualified than her running mate on that issue. While I don't want to make a comparison of the two, it does raise the question.
