As we all know, Governor Palin's roll-out as the GOP VP candidate is going ...less than perfectly smoothly. There's already a betting pool on Intrade gambling on whether she'll be dropped from the ticket. If that does happen, it of course raises the question of who to replace her.
The problems in selecting a replacement are obvious. It's hard to pick someone who has already been vetted, as they have already been passed over in favor of Palin. So, no Romney or Pawlenty. They need someone who is strong with the evangelical community, and it would be a bonus if the person could attract some members of Democratic-leaning demographics.
Given these criteria, I think the choice is clear
Alan Keyes, your moment is now.
