Much of the discussion of Sarah Palin has been about her scandals and other related problems. Many of these things will not be touched by the Obama campaign, at least not publicly. Undoubtedly, the campaign will hit plenty of the topics that have come out over the last 5 days.
Within 12-24 hours of the ending of the RNC, the Obama campaign must begin releasing ads that enlighten the public about the problems with Sarah Palin. First, a series of ads should disclose that she was for the bridge to nowhere before she was against it. These ads should, in some way, choke her off by anchoring her with statements that John McCain has made against earmarks. Second, they must drill home that she is under investigation by her own state for committing questionable acts against middle class Alaskan employees. Third, the campaign should release commercials using the video where she says she has no idea what the vice president does--personally, I think these ads should air before an of the others. t would be nice to prime the mind of voters using her own words, image, and voice.
The campaign has already released at least one commercial with images of McCain, Palin and Bush. The campaign must release more of these immediately. Linking her with "more of the same" is vital because it is already sticking to McCain. Another commercial that would be interesting would be one linking McCain's erratic choice of Palin to Bush's decision to go to war. It could be framed as one impulsive cowboy following in the footsteps of his gun-toting ally. Additionally, I think that the campaign should release a commercial where the announcer says, "Like under George Bush, the middle class will suffer under John McCain. It's not because John McCain doesn't care; it's because John McCain just doesn't get it."
