I found this in Paul Krugman's blog. In the September/October Issue of Contingencies, the magazine of American Academy of Actuaries, McCain recommends the country do with healthcare what has been done with banking.
Opening up the health insurance market to more vigorous nationwide competition, as we have done over the last decade in banking, would provide more choices of innovative products less burdened by the worst excesses of state-based regulation.

McCain is listed as the sole author of the article. Apparently, he wrote it when he thought the fundamentals of the economy were sound...of course, he was talking about the American worker. However, the health and health care of the American worker may be in danger if we follow McCain's advice again. Then he would put, by his definition, the "fundamentals of the economy" in danger. Can he run away from his words in print?
