Yes there was a moment of a scare with a Sienna poll last week, but those of us in New York KNOW our state will remain blue. But there is an overwhelming need that I am finding among so many of us to do something.
In the northern suburbs (Westchester County) we now have an "unofficial headquarter," (meaning it is unfunded by the campaign). The group (via snow-chain like efforts to organizers in our local towns, villages and cities) is incredibly active. Yesterday, I was part of bus of New Yorkers who went off to Scraton, PA. (It was my first time, and I was so impressed with the Scranton effort.) There will be weekly trips to Pennsylvania from my county. Other New Yorkers I know are joining up with Camp Obama or have made connections with the Ohio campaign.
So if you are a New Yorker reading this, get involved. Here in Westchester, the number to call is (914) 630-0617. The website to look for info is www.nyobama.com (not the campaign's official website, but a good place for local info).
New Yorkers get involved!
