Not that I deplore the fact that well into the eleventh hour Bush finds it in the goodness of his heart to finally pay attention and avert the complete meltdown of the financial system as we know it.
I don't and against my own better judgement I'm trying to keep an open mind to the possibility that it is well intended and free of nafarious design.
I am by nature an optimist and prefer to have a positive outlook, no matter how many times I find myself disappointed at having to conclude that we 'were had once again'.
However, I not that naive and gullible not to hear this continuing nagging little voice that insistently keeps inquiring whether that is really true or not.
Eight years ago, I opined towards anyone who would possibly have the gumption to understand what I was talking about, that the only thing that would trickle down in a (then still contested) Bush presidency would be whatever would trickle down U.S.Liberty's legs after Bush and his cronies were done raping that same U.S.Liberty.
Unfortunately I could not have been more correct in that assessment and even though it got me banned on more than a few sites that I frequented, I think that I have to repeat it on this platform.
The blatant venality and disingenuity of the Bush administration and by extension thereof; the GOP is such, that I fail to trust my earlier mentioned basic optimism and make me look a little deeper.
I ask myself: "Who benefits from this bail-out?" and I have no other answer than that it benefits those who caused this calamity during the reign or horror and terror that the Bush administration unleashed upon the American society (not to mention several other societies that have suffered in blood and treasure because and not despite of it.).
Not a single homeowner benefits from it. Not a single individual nest-egg investor will see benefits of it. Not a single individual small business entrepreneur will get a leg-up from this macro-economic excercise in corporate socialism.
Instead it is the constitutionalized financial gambling elements in our society that are essentially given a free pass to continue their rape of the financial system and so stack the odds against the expected clean-up crew that is to emerge from the upcoming elections. It seems to me that it is the last spasm of greed and avarice to milk the most out of a governing clique that is on its way out. I fear that once again we are being pulled the wool over the eyes by the same guys (and gals) that plundered the middle class to concentrate wealth exclusively to the looters.
After having read the proposed measures, I will go as far as to state that This bail-out will;
- Only benefit those who have been from the very get-go responsible for it.
- If not pre-arranged then it was constructed to suck the financially last and most out of the opportunity that the present administration allows.
- Leave each and any individual out in the cold, but adds to the invidual debt to the tune of at the very least $3000 a pop.
- In its present form and formulation shifts unprecidented power to those who are involved in its execution. A power that will possibly and most likely transcend the election and its results.
- Leave the next administration hobbled and handicapped in most every budgetary way to execute and follow up on this bail-out plan while the instigators of it are continued to be rewarded every step of the way.
- Do Nothing, Zip, Zilch, Nada to the fundamentals of the economy. In fact it will open the door to the many Piranhas after the Big Sharks have had their way on the loot. We as Middle class get to pick over the bare carcass.
- Sabotage and starve any effort to restore the American dream to the middle class.
- Sabotage and starve any effort to create solutions for our dependence on traditional Green-house effect increasing energy, be it Oil from the Middle East, Natural gas or to a lesser extent Electricity imported from Canada.
- Limit the U.S. Capabilities to regain its decency, honor and credibility in the world since we're strapped to the limit to pay for the legacy of the Bush administration.
- Extend the influence of the present administration and its cronies into the (hopefully) truly Democratic administration that is to succeed it unless that new adminsitration will see fit to turn this around and get the real perpetrators to pay their dues combined with interest over interest over at the very least 8 years.
I may have overlooked a couple of things, but I think that I got most of it. Don't trust the b4$tards!
