Marcy Kaptur gave a great speech several days ago. Gsadamb wrote a great diary on it Gsadm Diary.
Well this evening I received a letter from Marcy that I want to share with you, and if you missed her speech the first time around, here is another chance to see it.
Dear Friends:
What an extraordinary week this has been for America as we struggle to make sense of all that is happening in the financial markets. For me the week started, as it always does, at home in Toledo I heard loud and clear from every corner of the district that the Bush Administration’s bailout of Wall Street was a shameful raid on the U.S. Treasury that could not be allowed to stand.
I have spent the balance of this week fighting in every way I know how to bring the bright light of transparency to the debate and assure that no stone goes unturned in bringing those whose reckless behavior brought Wall Street to the feet of America’s hard working taxpayers. And I am not giving up.
I wanted to share a recent floor speech I gave on the topic with you in the event you have a chance to view it.
Speech to Congress
Feel free to share the video with your friends and family who may be concerned so they can be assured that we are in there fighting this latest economic injustice. As always, I welcome your thoughts on issues that shape the day’s news. So, please do feel free to contact me.
Meanwhile, thank you for your continued support and friendship. America will come through this challenge as she has so many before this. Let's remain ever mindful of Thomas Jefferson’s advice when he declared, "The price of liberty is eternal vigilance."
Thank you Marcy.
