John "I suspended my campaign" McCain is going on each of your news casts tonight because apparently he was able to singlehandedly solve the economic crisis in the 2 hours he was in D.C. this afternoon.
I would like you each to ask him the following question:
Senator McCain. You claimed to have suspended your campaign. Yet you spent yesterday in New York doing interviews. You were in New York for most of the morning. You have campaign ads running across the country. Your campaign offices are open. Your surrogates have been out giving interviews. And it appears you only spent a couple of hours working on a plan that was essentially completed already when you arrived in DC. What exactly have you done to move this process along?
and follow up with
Senator McCain, given that you are so clearly concerned with the economy would you agree to shift the topic of tomorrow night's debate so that the American people can hear each of your thoughts unscripted on this crisis?
These are not radical questions or partisan ones. Please do your job. I won't be holding my breath.
