Last election I was furious when I heard a local pastor from Cornerstone Ministries one Sunday morning before the election preaching to his
"constituents" to vote for Bush. This was on our local CBS affiliate station.
This kind of thing pisses me off no end.
Two days ago, I heard on NPR, that a group of pastors (Preachers for politics) planned to tell their "Constituents" who they should vote for in this election in a co-ordinated effort all over the country.
They plan to challenge the IRS on this, saying it is unconstitutional for the IRS to threaten to take away their tax-exempt status.
Well, that set my head to spinning.
Then, this morning I heard the same thing on CNN.
This type of American Taliban religiosity needs to be addressed.
Somebody needs to tell them they can preach whatever they want,
they just lose tax-exempt status if they preach politics.
I mean, isn't that still part of our Constitution? Separation of Church & State.
