While discussion continues about the bail out, McAint's opportunistic grandstanding and the democratic party's tepid attempts to stay afloat, violence continues in Iraq, with more Iraqui civilians and american servicemen killed.
Folks should check out http://icasualties.org/... you'll see stories like the 9/25 roadside bomb attack that killed one soldier near Iskandariyah; or the 9/24 attack in Diyala, that took yet another young man's life. Or ... and the list will go on. Mind you, not at the levels of 2006, when according to Bob Woodward's new book, there were 8 attacks an hour. But a steady trickle down of death, about 26 per month. Month in and month out. That's the success of the surge.
Let's not forget that the war was unjust. That it was supported by a servile Congress and a terrified and irresponsible electorate. Let's remember that the media accepted those lies, the same newspapers, TV stations and journalists out there now telling us about this election. Let's remember the torture, the lying, the innocent civilians killed in Iraq and Afganistan.
Let's also remember that it was Obama at his best when he stood in opposition to the war.
