I have to tell you, I was screaming at the tube during the debates. I kept wondering why Obama kept saying "Senator McCain is right about.." I would NEVER give him the credit, and I still wouldn't. McCain allowed no such respect, in return.
I thought that Obama could have plunged the dagger into the heart of the McCain campaign, by:
> exposing his lack of support on the 21st century GI bill.
> voting against funding for veteran's health care.
> exposing the 26 times he voted AGAINST regulation.
> making it clearer how responsible McCain is for this economic mess we're
now.
> making the world see that McCain's entire view of foreign policy is defined
by war.
In addition, Obama let McCain get the last word on almost EVERY issue. So I was very frustrated and came away feeling a sense of doom. Then..I started looking at the control groups. And suddenly, I'm seeing people who really are interested in sober rational judgment. I'm seeing the undecideds overwhelmingly picking Obama, (according to CBS). Even Fox had their control group giving Obama the edge. So.. If you've seen my posts on TP, i have to apologize. I've been losing sleep over this election, and can barely stand to think of another 4 years of this insanity.
Obama is obviously a very smart and measured man. My brother was saying that Hillary would have fought in this debate much harder, when it occurred to me that, maybe she would have.. but Obama beat her! So, I think I'll relax a little and then wait in delightful anticipation for the great Palin-Biden debate. I'm sure that one WON'T disappoint!
Peace to all.
