One line that McCain seems to like and will surely be repeating in the coming debates is "what Obama doesn't understand is …". It is pretty lame and seems to have harmed McCain more than Obama, since it made him seem negative and condescending.
Nevertheless, this is a hanging curve-ball and it will surely appear again, and not all that difficult to counter-punch on. A response would be something like this.
(Addressing McCain and looking him straight in the eye) "With all due respect, Senator, I understand your point perfectly. It's a point that you've been making for a while, and one that merely repeats what the same old tired line that Bush administration has been peddling for years. All Americans understnad you point.
