After starting to lose faith and that one disasterous Saturday of canvassing, I am starting to regain my confidence back with people. Partly because of polls and partly just because it is actually nice to talk to people and get good hits that actually have good information to go with them.
I actually went canvassing just about every week since that one Saturday that was so awful. Even that next week, I dealt with a lot of people who were very much on the fence, which I appreciate. Mind you, this is just before McCain's really bad week. Or should I say, first really bad week after the RNC. Hell, I even ran into a registered Republican on the list who was totally on the fence about who to vote for President and Senate. I really appreciated that and told her so. I ran into a lot of good hits who were going to vote for Obama and Udall, while walking for our coordinated campaign that day. Today, I ran into similar people. I had a lot of not homes, but I had a couple of supporters and some people on the fence that were willing to talk a little. I even had one person say that she was firmly in McCain's camp until last night's debate and now she's undecided, so I tried to nudge her a little more in Obama's direction. Now, I feel that, God Willing, we'll take this thing all the way.
