There is a new poll out today for North Carolina from PPP. Obama 47 McCain 45 (Obama +2)
Between this poll, some recent good polling, plus some stong McCain polling rolling off the back end, RCP has officially switched NC blue. As a result the RCP electoral map (No toss-up states) is just gorgeous!
A thing of beauty
Here are some other lovely tidbits from the PPP poll crosstabs.
Kay Hagan is now out to her biggest lead yet at 46-38. She led by 5 a week ago.
Obama is earning 36% of the white vote with 6% remaining undecided. He is likely to win the state if he can crack 35% with that demographic.
Obama has also moved ahead in the 46 to 65 age group, winning 47 to 46. The only age range he loses now is the 65+ group.
Obama is winning the Urban and Suburban vote and is tied in the Small Town vote. The only community he loses in is Rural.
Obama is winning in the 704 (Charlotte), and 919 (Research Triangle) area code, but losing in the 252 (Outer Banks), 336 (Piedmont), 828 (Western Mountains), and 910 (Southeast) area code.
