In her front page diary yesterday, MissLaura was on the mark in so many ways:
The New York state primary is one week from today. On that day, voters will decide -- and the rest of us will find out -- if the Democratic nominee from NY-26 is Orange to Blue candidate Jon Powers or Jack Davis, one of the most odious candidates running as a Democrat this cycle.
....and:
Contributions to Powers made today are particularly crucial -- this is his last real chance to assess where he stands and make ad buys. He needs the money to put on a strong push this week to defeat Davis.
She repeatedly made appeals for donations to our campaign, and for that, I say Thank you , MissLaura, and thank you to all who contributed.
While that post was up on Dailykos, I was holding a press conference with Eric Massa (NY-29) where Major General John Batiste, U.S. Army, Retired and Major General Paul D. Eaton, U.S. Army, Retired discussed our campaigns.
I wanted to share with you a video of General Eaton endorsing the Powers for Congress campaign and relating the situation he was asked to resolve in Iraq. Please forgive the grainy resolution. What's really important is what he had to say.
He nails the lack of preparation and support we discovered when we were in Iraq. (He has previously called for Rumsfeld's resignation, BTW.)
This lack of preparation and support was the main reason I decided to run for Congress; to change how business was done in Washington.
We do have an important primary next week and we still could use some help buying some more air time for our TV spots.
Again, thank you, Dailykos community, for all your support. Together we have the power to change Washington.
