I have just heard from a source deep within the McCain team how they plan to score a massive victory in the Vice Presidential debate.
They are obviously faced with a massive problem. As the Sarah Palin sheen wears off, it is becoming clear to everyone that she cannot be allowed to answer questions except for softballs lobbed by conservative bloviators such as Hannity and Limbaugh.
Additional reports are circulating that she massively failed mock debates in NYC and Philly (see Excelsior1's rec listed diary for details)
The McCain camp is now putting out the story that she is going to McCain's Sedona compound to prepare for the debate for two full days.
As any thinking person knows, no one could possibly do enough debate prep in 2 days to go from her current massive Fail level to anything above a D, and she needs to to much better than that to give the campaign any boost.
So, what is really happening in the Sedona compound? What is the campaign's scheme to win the debate, leaked only to me?
Follow me below the break to find out.
As my mole in the campaign staff reports, his top strategists were sitting around late saturday night, watching live TV.
The idea occured to them simultaneously, as if prompted an outside force.
They need a look-alike to stand in. One who might actually have some knowledge of current events. One who might be well enough educated to know the name of a few supreme court cases other than Roe v Wade. One who has practice speaking into a camera, and can memorize key lines.
Where could they find such a person?
The answer was staring them in the face.
The nefarious plot was born.
The real Sarah Palin will not leave Sedona on Thursday. She will be replaced by an impersonator.
Be very very afraid, the Republicans have found the only person who could possibly have helped them.
How did they get her to agree to this massive deception? My source won't say. I go back and forth between thinking that it must be blackmail and thinking that maybe it's just massive amounts of Cindy's money combined with all the Bud she can drink.
When "Sarah Palin" massively outperforms expectations on Thursday, don't say I didn't warn you.
If you don't believe me, just see if you can find Tina Fey in public on Thursday.
