To my new hero:
To the man with the shaved head who just protested McCain on national television, I say thank you. Thank you for having the guts to stand up (literally) and speak the truth in front of thousands in an arena and millions across the country.
More below the fold....
I didn't catch everything you said, and wondered what was going on at first, but here's what I saw:
You held up a banner that said, "You cannot win an occupation"
Thank you for attacking the jingoistic Republicans at their core.
You held up a banner that said the equivalent of "McCain votes against vets"
Thank you for speaking the truth, even as random men in suits advance against you.
I missed what I think was another saying on another banner, but I'm sure it was biting and true.
And then finally, thank you for standing up, presumably because your banner was taken from you, with nothing but your hands in the air, giving dual peace signs.
If we had a million people like you, this country would be a much better place.
And since I can't be completely poetic, I must say that it took some serious, brassy, clanky balls to do what you did tonight.
You are my new hero.
P.S. I'm donating to the Obama campaign tonight in honor of your protest.

REQUEST: If anyone has video of this I'd love to have it. Or information on the protester so he can get some credit where credit is due.
UPDATE: The protester was wearing an "Iraq Veterans Against the War" t-shirt. Here's their website:
Iraq Vets Against the War
UPDATE X2: A poster says the protester's name is Adam Kokesh. Way to go Adam!
FROM THE COMMENTS:
From Tassojunior, who hopes these quotes will be what is remembered from tonight, a quote from Mark Twain:
"The O Team needs to remember Mark Twain's quote: " If you can't write it on a matchbook cover, it's not worth saying.""
