John McCain made his case for president. he was respectful, exuberant, warm, thoughtful, and ready. he also was bland, listless, and without one compelling argument. he rode the coattails of his VP nominee Palin, who did all the heavy lifting last night, and tonight his party put on that sickening video "tribute" to 9/11, just to remind us of the fear of that day. like Obama said, ENOUGH!
ladies and gentlemen of the progressive/liberal/democratic movement, now we have seen the bag of tricks and dirty pool that the other side will use in order to win this election. they will use the "inexperience" argument against Obama, even though their VP pick has less. they will use McCain's former "maverick" status, even though he has long since abandoned that moniker in favor of some sort of truce with the religious right. they may, if desperate, use the race card. they will call anyone that too closely examines palin's record sexist, even though they hammered Hillary for saying the same thing. they will never stand on anything, attack anyone, and basically play the same game we've seen since the "revolution" in 1994. i say to you now, WE WILL NOT HAVE ANOTHER 2000!
Ralph Nader likes to say that there is no difference between Obama and McCain, just like he did with Bush and Gore and Bush and Kerry. over 4,000 men and women in the US military have died for that assumption. we have, for eight years now, had to suffer as Bush took our fear, our liberties, our money, our homes, and our jobs, and gave them to the big wig money men he really works for. now, we have a chance to strike back, and get real change in and the shadows of the past out. we can not be scared out of this task, and the Repubs will try to scare us (like with tonight's 9/11 "tribute".) we have to see this through, and not stay home on election night.
Obama is our candidate, and he represents the change we have been waiting for. he has ideas for this country that both make sense and inspire us all. and with Joe Biden, with his years of experience and no-nonsense approach to government, we have the stronger ticket, and on Nov 4, we have to come out for them. we can't let ANY wedge issue divide us. NO gay-marriage amendment, no "Muslim" smears, no religion double-talk. we, as a party, have to stay focused. talk to your independent friends, your moderate republican friends, your stoner friends, talk to any and everyone. we can't let this one get away.
this is our future. we have to win!
OBAMA/BIDEN 08!!
