I'm sure you've seen the video of McCain's campaign manager Rick Davis and spokesperson Nicole Wallace stating they don't need to have Sarah Palin give interviews.
I just thought I would help them with a new slogan.
How does "Campaign First" sound to you?
Davis went as far to say, "We're going to do whatever we think is the best to win."
So much for access, transparency, and Country First.
Now here is some advice for the media. Get over yourselves. Instead of debating about whether she should be doing interviews, start asking the campaign and John McCain what are her positions.
Immigration
Health Care
Creating Jobs
Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan
Israel
Housing Crisis
Raising Sales Tax in Wasilla
Leaving Wasilla awash in debt
Leaving bars open until 5am instead of 3am
Oil Windfall Profits Tax
etc.
After they decide not to answer those questions, remember it's "Campaign First", ask some more questions.
McCain needs to be specific what spending he is going to cut. Saying he's going to do it, shouldn't be good enough. (Bush was supposed to be a fiscal conservative as well.) He's been in the Senate 26 years, he should know that budget back and forth.
Ask what pork spending projects he would cut from say, the #1 state receiving pork projects--ALASKA.
One more bit of advice for the media. No reason you have to be the McCain/Palin lapdogs either. If they don't want to provide her to you, then you don't have to provide her to us. Ignore her. Unless she starts saying something new, just show McCain at the campaign events. In fact, unless she makes news, no reason to mention her at all.
Remember, two can play at that game. Let them complain all they want about lack of coverage. Just keep reminding them it's "Campaign First".
