of here we go again.
As with 2000 and 2004 Democrats have the better candidate and better ideas/solutions. So why, once again, do I have that same sinking feeling?
Oh, and before I start hearing any of the usual bullshit, concern troll, etc., I've diaried here in the past and commented plenty.
I would appreciate honest opinions/facts as to why I shouldn't be so worried.
What worries me most this morning is the MSM. Yeah, yeah, I have all the typical contempt that most educated, thinking people have about them. This morning, after reading a post by Josh Marshall at TPM, I just feel like giving up. It's so easy to see what's going to happen next. Charlie Gibson, in exchange for the all important access, will give the softball interview of our lifetime and the McCain campaign will say "See! Who says she needs to be hidden away. The liberal media that's who!" It won't be long before the MSM will begin "reporting" the caricatures that the RNC paints of Obama/Biden as actual news to be "debated" over. You've heard it before. It starts something like this "Some are saying...".
On the heels of NBC's cowardly actions in regards to Matthews and Olberman, why shouldn't they crow. This will be the 3rd presidential election in a row they(the RNC)have pulled this kind of shit off. We here at DKos and on other sights can site examples of the media's failure to do even a decent job until we're blue in the face, yet nothing changes. OK I'm wrong there. I just continue to get poorer and lose more benefits with each successive year of Republican "leadership".
I go every evening I can to my local, here in red Warren County Missouri, Obama office and phone bank. I canvas too and can say, at least anecdotally, that there is real enthusiasm for the Obama Campaign. That being said, if the MSM is just going to take it's orders from Rick Davis and the others at the Palin/McCain campaign, I can't help but see a repeat of 2000 and 2004.
