Check out this creative Minnesota ad against Norm Coleman, and how the Obama campaign could retool it to so that it's the perfect response to theatrical tone of this McCain/Palin ad already produced.
While I'm no Chicken Little, I do actually agree that ads have been just about the only mediocre part of an otherwise outstanding Obama campaign.
Norm Coleman-Running Man!!
Transcript:
From the producers of the Iraq War and Four Dollar Gas comes the story of one man trying to outrun his own past. Sen. Norm Coleman is THE RUNNING MAN. Trapped in a world where he voted with George Bush 86% of the time. Tax Breaks for Oil Companies And Endless War in Iraq. This fall, Norm Coleman can run but can he hide who he truly is?
From the producers of the Iraq War and Four Dollar Gas comes the story of one man trying to outrun his own past.
Sen. Norm Coleman is THE RUNNING MAN.
Trapped in a world where he voted with George Bush 86% of the time.
Tax Breaks for Oil Companies
And Endless War in Iraq.
This fall, Norm Coleman can run but can he hide who he truly is?
An ad like this points out how they're trying to outrun the past in a wildly creative way, especially now that the Republicans have conceded this is a change election, I approve.
Another huge advantage is Democrats all over the country could use this same theme. I know Gordon Smith in Oregon and Chris Shays in Connecticut could also be Running Men.
Also maybe a a concurrent series of ads, which are just the opposite in tone? Pared down and simple, unpolished video from Obama on the stump where he's gotten in some great zingers lately
Compare to the McCain/Palin ad which repeats the Bridge to Nowhere lie that Sarah Palin turned down the bridge.
The Original Mavericks!!
