I am not a political professional, just a private person. However, since the Obama campaign asks me for money (and since I already donated), I would like to know how they measure the success of their ads and how they decide to tweak or replace them.
A number of people on this site as well as the campaign's have expressed their opinions about the ads currently running in battleground states: some liked them, some thought they were not tough enough and others (myself included) thought they needed to focus not just on more esoteric issues such as "is Jack Abramoff connected to McCain?" but simple, black-and-white, core issues having to do with the right to choose , etc.
I have a couple of questions for people here:
a) What is a good way to transmit to the campaign that a large chunk of their supporters support (or not) a particular ad ?
b) Some of us have relatives in battleground states (or we live there). How can we package our anecdotal evidence of an ad's success or failure and make it available to the campaign in a more organized fashion? I am sure they must track the response somehow - but if we could help, that may be a boost to their efforts.
