This is for all you process specialists. I saw a story that said the 3 Republican Senators (Specter, Collins, Snowe) who voted for the stimulus package will be very forceful in keeping their hard-won concessions in. Do they have any power in this? Seems like I remember all sorts of Bush-era conference committees in which the provisions that won the votes of the Dems necessary to dodge the filibuster threat were summarily stripped in conference committees that had no Dems representing the Senate. What are our options? How does it work? Can we get the state funding back in the bill?
