The look on Chris Matthew's face during this exchange was priceless!
Schultz: What Brian did by voting no today was he voted against giving 385,000 jobs in his own state. 8,000 jobs in his own district. Aid to his state to help....
Matthews: Did you look this up?
Schultz: Yes I sure did. (crosstalk) 8,000 jobs in his own district. Avoiding layoffs of teachers, firefighters and policemen. The bottom line is that this bill is designed to create jobs, turn the economy around, avoid layoffs, move us towards energy independence and the Republicans have just said "No". He can say all he wants, that he doesn't want this bill to fail. This vote for them was all about 2010. They are hoping that this doesn't work so that they can blame the continued poor economy on the Democrats and that is the bottom line.
Rep Wasserman Schultz was also quick to reply when Bilbray started to cry about the Dems writing this bill in secret and not letting him and his little Republican WATB friends have access to it.
Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Florida), speaking quickly to make her point in the closing seconds of the segment, countered this by saying, "Anyone who wants to know what's in this bill can go to www.house.gov/appropriations" and look at not only the full, searchable text of the bill, but summaries, amendments and changes, floor debates, and other information. (Emphasis hers.)
"This is the most transparent legislation in American history," said Wasserman Schultz.
The Freepers are pulling out the knives for our dear Rep.
She is evil and vile...she will likely be the next Speaker of the House.
If only to dream, dear Freepi!
Never liked her. Bilbbray might have responded by telling how many working middle class families will be put out of jobs or just taxed to death in each of their districts.
Yes, taxed to DEATH by those $212 billion in tax CUTS. They were really only ever good at "The Math", I guess.
She’s a mean little knife-fighter, that one. She’s also kinda hot in a weird way. Sexy ‘n’ evil! God help me!
Well, that's one way to get banned from Free Republic.
I leave you with a few other of Rep Wasserman Schultz's famous smackdowns. She is truly in a league of her own.
Smackdown of Chris Shays (R-CT)
Her thoughts on Sarah Palin
Appearance with Brit Hume on Fixed News
Refusing to let Hannity trap her
update: I have finally gotten through all of the comments. I wasn't here for the primaries nor the general election. I'm a little late to the party, I suppose. I was unaware that DWS did not support 3 Dem candidates in Florida because of her friendship with their Republican counterparts. IMO, that's bad on her. Unless someone is selling a Senate seat or hiding bribe money in their freezer, we Dems need to support each other. She was a wonderful surrogate for Obama during the general election and her smackdowns are a thing of beauty! Also, I have a secret obsession with the Freepers. I find them utterly high-larious. I have a weird sense of humor, which probably explains why I find the word falme so effing funny. I know this isn't really kosher, but this is my first time on the rec list, so thanks!
