Well I think I’ve figured out who the much anticipated anti-christ is. It has to be Rush Limbaugh. Next time you get a chance to see a photo of him look at it closely and you can see a demonic gleam in his eyes.
Or maybe it’s that special gleam of the insane. Or maybe he’s stoned. Or maybe he's just down right mean spirited. Of course that’s how he makes his living, by being a mean cuss. After all he rakes in a ton of cash just by being that special brand of nasty that he his.
Why should he do anything different? He can open is mouth and spew any garbage he wants and people continue to listen. Kind of like an old time snake oil salesman. He keeps setting up shop and they keep showing up, mouths wide open ready to guzzle his poison. Yum Yum...thank you (slurp)
Master.
But at what point do his hateful words cross the line? When does freedom of speech stop and a propagandist’s incitement to violence begin? There are laws concerning hate crimes, and laws against inciting violence. And then there is that higher law, the one that appeals to human decency, kindness and respect.
Maybe Rush Limbaugh never received this type of basic training while he was growing up. I don’t know. But at what point is there something as basic as accountability?
Remember the little childhood rhyme about sticks and stones? Well words can not only hurt, they can kill. There are many historical examples of this (just take your pick), in fact too many. If Rush Limbaugh keeps inciting people to hate Democrats somebody is going to end up hurt or even worse, dead, just because they are Democrat. Or someone thinks they are a Democrat, using as their guide Rush Limbaugh’s cookie cutter Democrat. The ones he wants to be defeated.
There is only one person that can change Rush Limbaugh and that person is Rush Limbaugh. I hope and pray that he receives the kind of epiphany in life that will allow him to use his gift for gab to serve the good and not the evil in the hearts of his fellows. And I hope it happens soon, before someone gets hurt.
Christ is about love, the opposite of that, to me, would be anti- Christ so – hate.
It is hate that has the potential to destroy us.
