If you don't think the stuff that Senator Shelby has been saying is potentially dangerous, have a look at what the wingnuts are up to now.
Easterling, who confirmed separately to WND that he is questioning Obama's authority, wrote to Taitz that, "As an active-duty officer in the United States Army, I have grave concerns about the constitutional eligibility of Barack Hussein Obama to hold the office of president of the United States."
Seriously?
"Until Mr. Obama releases a 'vault copy' of his original birth certificate for public review, I will consider him neither my Commander in Chief nor my President, but rather, a usurper to the Office – an impostor," Easterling's statement said.
Unbelievable. Now this guy is adding his name to another one of the pile of ridiculous lawsuits that continue to be filed against the President.
Edit: The worst part is, he is just the first one, there's also a second. Now as far as I can tell, the first guy is in violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, as he is a commissioned officer.
- ART. 88. CONTEMPT TOWARD OFFICIALS
Any commissioned officer who uses contemptuous words against the President, the Vice President, Congress, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of a military department, the Secretary of Transportation, or the Governor or legislature of any State, Territory, Commonwealth, or possession in which he is on duty or present shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.
Now, as American citizens, we have the right and responsibility to question our President. However, these are soldiers serving in the United States military. Their ad hominem attacks on the President are dangerous. If they truly feel the way they do, I don't see how they can continue to hold their positions in the military.
Barack Obama is the President of the United States. That makes him your Commander in Chief. You don't have to like it, but if you are an active duty soldier, you have no right to question it.
Am I completely off base here?
Edit: I swtiched the links to be more clear :-)
