Remember the butterfly's wing beat...
As we alternately wring our hands over housing foreclosures, the increased demand for food banks, and the soup kitchens struggling to feed the growing crowds of hungry, keep an eye on your neighbor as this major snow storm moves in.
We have already seen several inches in Memphis and the snow fall is increasing in Atlanta. Charlotte, NC is expecting 8 inches, and those of us in central Virginia have been put on alert for 7 to 12 inches of snow. If the low forming off the coast of South Carolina continues to stay off shore, the north east, and New England could get clobbered, too.
Time to ask yourself, "Who in my neighborhood is without power because they couldn't pay the bill?"
"Who is without food, and shelter?"
"Who needs a helping hand to get through this late winter storm that could make survival a struggle?"
Reach out, Kossacks!
Take someone in.
Take a hot dish to a neighbor.
Share your oil lamps if the power goes out.
A major winter storm in a time of real economic hardship can create havoc for strangers and friends alike. Reach out and help.
