A little light reading today has led me to believe the natives of Wingnuttia are getting very restless. That reading started right here, at Daily Kos, with Ignore Loudmouth Wannabes at Our Peril. I had to recommend the diary, which was already at the top of the Rec list, although the subject is one that makes me uncomfortable.
Wingnuts Gone Wild!
Maybe it sounds like it would make for comical television, but in reality it's hard to imagine that white supremacists and death threats and overthowing government are anyone's idea of a good time.
The reading didn't end there.
I read Crounching Wingnut, Hidden Seditionist, I read Beck, Norris and Bauer - Triumvariate of Wingnuttery, and then I read Right Wing Hate Porn is Bad for Your Health and each added to my sense that all was not peaceful in the land of Wingnuttia.
But this is DailyKos, we tend to see "them" in the least favorable light because in a world of "us and them" we are "us" and they are "them." Surely it wasn't as bad as it seemed.
I clicked over to gmail to catch up on email. I'm on a few mailing lists that I almost never read - I see them in my inbox, delete them, and life goes one. Mail from Townhall.com is an example. I don't recall how I got on their email list, but I never bothered to be removed. Perhaps
Keep your friends close, your enemies closer
is the reason; maybe I just never got around to it.
In any case, there was my daily email from Jonathan Garthwaite at Townhall.com. I opened it. I can't say I've never done that before, but I can't say I have, either. In any case, open it I did, to see an ad for Ann Coulter's latest screed book and links to several columnists' articles. Among them, one by John Stossel entitled The Fatal Conceit: We've Been Rolled Again.
Much as I hate John Stossel, which is almost as much as I hate going to the dentist, almost as much as I hate spiders, I had to click the link. It was a bit like buying a bag of Doritos knowing I don't like them but if I open the bag I'll eat them anyway, hating each bite and then regretting the fat, salt and calories afterward. Except reading Stossel's piece made me feel worse than anything from Frito-Lay ever did.
But it wasn't Stossel's words that made me feel ill. It was comments that followed the piece that made me sick and certain that the natives of Wingnuttia are indeed very restless. Here are a few samples.

Interject money into the economy?? Is this ebonics at the highest level of government?? How aobut inject instead? Here is the best way to change the economy:
Letter from the Boss,
As the CFO of this business that employees 32 people, I have resigned myself to the fact that Barrack Obama is our President, and that our taxes and government fees will increase in a BIG way. To compensate for these increases, I figure that the Clients will have to see an increase in our fees to them of about 8%. Since we cannot increase our fees right now due to the dismal state of our economy, we will have to lay off three of our employees instead. This has really been eating at me for a while, as we believe we are family here and I didn't know how to choose who will have to go.
So, this is what I did: I strolled thru our parking garage and found 3 Obama bumper stickers on our employees' cars and have decided these folks will be the first to be laid off. I can't think of a more fair way to approach this problem. These folks wanted change; I gave it to them. If you have a better idea, let me know.
Sincerely,
The Boss
The next one got my attention in a big way. I have not checked out the links; I don't want them in my history. (I love the reference to Atlas Shrugged; do they really see the world in that frame?!)

YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
......groups are forming all over the US in every city.
- View this video
http://video.google.com/...
- Then get this book (Amazon maybe) and read "THE 5000 YEAR LEAP" ...(it is in short supply) and you will begin to understand what we are about to lose.
- Then join one of Glenn Beck's "WE SURROUND THEM" groups ( forming up all over the country) and help us save our Republic before it is too late.
Follow these links to understand how this works............ you can start a group in your area or town to view the unveiling of Glenn's program this Friday or record it (Tivo- DVR) and watch it later. This may be our last chance to save America from Socialism and save our Republic.....PLEASE GET INVOLVED BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE.

- And then for a little light reading......Ayn Rand's "ATLAS SHRUGGED" and learn who John Galt is (you will be hearing more about him).
All this should bring you up to speed and you can begin to help us save our country.

Conceit is one way to put it....
....another is LIES! The Obamanation and Company know what they're doing...they are mortgaging America's future so they can have power now. Even if they KNOW there is no "concensus" that their stimuli will work, they will say so anyway, just to get what they want. And they're shoving it through so fast, so we don't have time to stop them. Who in their right mind votes for a bill that spends BILLIONS of dollars, without even reading it??? So many of us saw it coming...but couldn't do a darn thing about it. The mainstream media doesn't care any more than the government does. I pray that Glenn Beck's "We Surround Them" plan will work...because if we don't do something NOW to stop these fiends, it may be too late.

The arrogance is stunning?
The stupidity is stunning?
Why are we letting these people get away with it?
I don't tend toward paranoia. But I fear the restless ones. I really do.
