Several hundred members of organized labor and their community allies from Philadelphia and the surrounding area rallied in support of the Employee Free Choice Act yesterday at the National Constitution Center. Union activists included members of the United Steelworkers, SEIU, UFCW, AFSCME, the Seafarers International Union, CWA, and more. After hearing from several labor leaders and workers who have been fired for the unholy sin of trying to organize their respective workplaces, we marched to Senator Specter's Philadelphia office and delivered 6,000 hand-written letters urging the Senator to get back on the right side of the issue.
