He was asked on MTP if he supports Obama's push for a public option in any healthcare reform bill and he gave a one word answer: NO. So we now know he's against EFCA, against the budget, against the mortgage cramdown, will probably be against the credit card bill, and he's against healthcare reform (without a public option, it aint healthcare reform folks). Wasn't the whole point of getting this guy for healthcare, thats all I kept on hearing.
So I gotta ask, what did the democrats get out of this deal?? Is this the biggest fleecing or what, the guy gets to vote like a republican but will have Obama and Rendell campaigning for him in a PRIMARY!! He even said he wouldn't hesitate to filibuster some of Obama's proposals yet the President will still campaign for him. Amazing.
This is a perfect exmaple of the beltway and the enfatuation of "60" taking over. The whole notion of 60 has been a facade from the start, with guys like Nelson, Lincoln, and Bayh, the democrats will never get 60 on the key pieces of Obama's agenda. The one good thing is Pennsylvania democrats will not stand for a guy who votes with his party 40% of time, even if the president is supporting him. Go Sestak!!
