It's been a long hard year, Nothing new for most of us out here.
Recently we had more bad news in my industry. Lay off notices were passed out. A sigh of relief to not get a notice, only to be followed by a notice there will be another round in 30 days. We've had so many rounds it's like a roller coaster.
Here we are, an American company, building an American product by American workers. Yet, it looks like we could close our doors. A large part of our problem comes from my fellow progressives.
The outcry over the banks buying french made business jets has put a fear in companies to pick up jets they've already paid more than half of the cost of.
When most people think of a business jet they see a luxury item used for frivolous reasons.
Not all industry is the same as the wall street crowd. Most are just small to medium sized businesses trying to be cost effective.
The truth is most American made jets are frugal in nature. They are actually a tool. If a company owns a plant or business in a small town, most aren't located near a large airport.
Which is more cost effective? Flying commercial and then renting a car to drive several hours to the business? Quite often this also results in the cost of hotels, or flying in to get the work done and home again in a few hours.
Forgive the bad grammar and stammering, it's been a long hard year.
