Ok, I don't want to put the cart before the horse, but I am getting really sick of all these Democrats arguing against the public option.
Granted, it is in the House version for now, and that does give me some hope, but I expect it to be removed or watered down based on all the comments I've heard in the last few weeks.
More below the fold-
I admit that I have been bad about voting. I have only voted during Presidential elections. Not once have I bothered to vote for any other candidate in any other election. And it hasn't really bothered me that I've been slack in that regard.
But things are changing.
I am SO SICK of Democrats fighting among themselves about the Public Health option that I promise that the next time my Congressman and/or Senator are up for election...I will vote based strictly on whether or not the incumbent voted for the Public Option.
If he/she did not, then I will vote for whoever is running against them.
If there is a situation where they are only running against a Republican, I will just not vote for the Democrat. I won't actually vote for the Republican, but by not voting for the incumbent Democrat, I will be increasing the chances he/she will lose.
I WILL NOT continue to support candidates that are voting against the Public Health option.
I would like everyone here to make a pledge that if your representative(s) vote against the Public Option, you will do everything in your power to make sure they lose their seat to the next Democrat to run against them.
It would be great to get a list of every member of Congress who votes against this, and then actively and aggressively get them thrown out on their collective asses.
Maybe, just maybe, if we begin to band together, we can force the people who were elected to do what the people want...to actually do what the people want.
If they thumb their noses at us, let's make sure they have a chance to use the healthcare system they voted for (as civilians)!
