Over 45,500 hits on the huffingtonpost.com for the words "hitler" or "nazi"
Rachel Maddow has been complaining about the use of the words "Hitler" and "Nazi" in the current health care debate. "Nazi is not a metaphor" she said on her show the other night. See: http://www.dailykostv.com/...
I agree wholeheartedly that the use of such loaded words are completely inappropriate and misplaced. The employment of these words not only demean the Holocaust but insult the memory of the millions who died as a result of the actions of the Nazis and its leader.
However, if Rachel is truly concerned with the use of such words she should direct her well-placed outrage to a source that has been doing it for years: at her friend Arianna Huffington's website, the huffingtonpost.com. The huffingtonpost.com's readers and bloggers used these terms ON A DAILY BASIS and directed them towards George Bush and his administration during Bush's time in office.
The following are the results of an advanced google search for the mentions of either "hitler" or "nazi".
