I just wrote the following letter to Honda:
Dear Ann,
I just heard that Honda is STILL advertising on Glenn Beck's show? Can it be true?
Over 20 advertisers have withdrawn their ads from Beck's show. Most recently: Wal-Mart, Best Buy, CVS, Travelocity, Allergan, Ally Bank, Broadview Security, and Re-Bath.
This is all in response to Beck's insane rantings that our President is a racist. This President was raised by his white Grandparents, and he wrote lovingly of them in his 1st book.
I have owned Hondas since 1981 ('81, '92, and '98 Accords and a '97 Civic for my daughter). The thought of Honda giving advertising to such a nut as Beck is truly horrifying.
PLEASE reconsider your decision (if you have not done so already).
Here is Honda's immediate response:
We've received your email and wanted to get back to you. It has come to our
attention that an inaccurate list of advertisers on FOX's Glenn Beck Show
is currently being circulated online. We'd like to correct the
misinformation. American Honda Motor Co., Inc. does not purchase
advertising on this program. Thank you.
Not much of a diary, but we can cross Honda off the list of organizations to harass...
